"The (official name Delhi Memorial)India Gate(an important monument of the city) is situated(at the eastern end of the Rajpath) (formerly called the Kingsway) at the center of New Delhi, the capital of India". It was made by Edwin Lutyens(Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens OM KCIE PRA FRIBA) In 1921. This landmark in Delhi commemorates(more than 80,000 Indian soldiers ) the members of the erstwhile British Indian Army who sacrificed their lives fighting for the Indian Empire in the Afghan Wars and World War(1914- 1918).

The nearest metro station to India Gate is the Central Secretariat station. It is located on the yellow and violet line of metro railways and is about a 2.3 km distance from India Gate. From there, either walking or opting in for an auto could work and it is going to take hardly 5 minutes in reaching there. The auto is going to charge about Rs. 30 or Rs. 40 in taking you from Central Secretariat metro station to India Gate. The other nearby metro station is Barakhamba station, at a distance of 3 km from India Gate. From there, an auto or a taxi could opt and it is going to take about 15 minutes in total in being there. Another nearby metro station that you can opt to travel to is Pragati Maidan metro station and it is also almost at a similar distance range as Barakhamba station. Also referred to as All India War Memorial, India Gate is an example of fine architecture work that was constructed by Edwin Lutyens in the 21st century.
